Our Mission
Learn a little about what we do, and why we do it.
What are we all about?
Walk and Talk is a community wellbeing initiative designed to bring people together through guided walks and supportive social groups. It provides a welcoming space where participants can connect, share experiences, and discuss mental health and overall wellbeing, all while enjoying gentle physical activity. By combining movement with conversation, Walk and Talk aims to reduce isolation, promote mental and physical health, and strengthen the sense of community across Nelson, Bradley, and wider Pendle.
Founded by Maj Mahmood and supported by a dedicated team of volunteers, Walk and Talk operates with minimal funding, relying on community support to keep activities accessible. Open to people of all ages and abilities, the initiative encourages anyone looking to improve their wellbeing, build social connections, and enjoy outdoor activity to take part. Walks are free or low-cost, with opportunities for participants to engage at their own pace, whether joining casually or attending more regularly.

Made by good people, for good people
Although the loss of Simon was the birth of Walk & Talk, we wouldn’t be where we are now without our trustees, good people who have come together to make all of this possible.

Be a part of our cause
We’re always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help out at our events, whether it’s joining our charity or offering extra assistance where it’s needed.
